IOTA Newsletter #24 — Chrysalis Phase 1, Pollen v0.2.3, Security Analysis Coordicide Grant Program and more
The first phase of IOTA 1.5 (also known as Chrysalis) — the mainnet’s intermediate stage before Coordicide — is complete. This is a major milestone for IOTA, and we would like to thank the community, the Hornet team and our partners for the support, contributions and last but not least, for upgrading to Hornet.
We released a new version of our Pollen Testnet: v0.2.3.
We are thrilled to announce our latest Coordicide grant! The new collaboration, with one of the leading Security and Privacy Research Groups in Europe, aims at providing an independent, academic review of our team’s work on the Coordicide project.
In May of this year, we announced a Coordicide Grant to study Cellular Automata as a potential extension to IOTA’s consensus mechanism in future versions of the protocol. We are pleased to share the results of that research. Dr. André Vilela and Dr. Kenric Nelson investigated the dynamic properties of Cellular Automata (CA) consensus algorithms.
