The new IOTA nodes (Hornet and Bee) and the Chrysalis protocol upgrade promise a significant step-change in the utility of the IOTA network. This will make it easier and cheaper to run nodes, and to transact on the network. So this is perhaps a good time to also think about how easy it is to discover and use all the functionality that the IOTA protocol affords.
The Crypto Rating Council has formally issued its rating for the IOTA token in April. The Crypto Rating Council is composed of industry-leading crypto businesses committed to a common framework to assess digital assets for adoption in the United States. It is a self-governing body that creates a rating or ‘score’ to assist its members and policymakers to better interface with digital assets. This score follows case law and SEC guidance to determine whether a digital asset may be considered a security now or in the future.

IOTA Streams alpha
We have been working on a new and vastly improved version of MAM (Masked Authenticated Messaging) for a couple of months now. In April we released an alpha implementation. Together with the release, and as described in this post, we are also renaming MAM to IOTA Streams. The implementation, written in Rust, allows you to test how IOTA Streams can be used and how it differs from previous versions of MAM.
